Biography

The Fred Barreto Group is a blues‑rock quartet based in Luxembourg, led by Brazilian guitarist Fred Barreto, renowned for his powerful playing, instantly recognizable tone, and striking stage presence. Alongside Fred are Nadja Prange on organ, Daniel Fastro on bass, and Michael Stein on drums, united by a shared passion for an organic, edgy sound deeply rooted in the blues. Together, they blend the timeless energy of rock with the soulful vibrations of the blues, with a modern, distinctive identity that fully comes to life on stage.

Over the course of more than 150 concerts, the band has established itself as a solid name on the international blues‑rock scene. They have opened for Toto at Rockhal (Luxembourg), as well as for Ian Paice (Deep Purple) and Ana Popovic, and have performed on the main stage of the Blues & Jazz Rallye. They have also shared the bill with Canned Heat, Robben Ford, and Kirk Fletcher at Blues Express, and even taken their music as far as the Dekatali festival on Réunion Island. On the recording side, after the singles “So Many Things” (2016) and “Time To Escape” (2019), followed by the EP “For So Long”, FBG took a major step forward with their first full‑length album “Moving On” (2021), featuring tracks such as “Living and Loving”, “Dream Again”, and “Moving On”, which confirm the band’s maturity and unique character.

They are now pursuing this path with the same unwavering drive to bring an original, authentic, and uncompromising repertoire to the stage, whether in intimate venues or on major festival stages. Supported by a rock‑solid rhythm section and a naturally charismatic frontman, the Fred Barreto Group stands out as one of the most distinctive voices of blues‑rock made in Luxembourg.
