Letting Go
On “Letting Go”, Flavio Boltro is fully involved in the conception of the album. Together with the trumpeter, Greg Lamy has built a strong musical rapport, which they deepened over numerous concerts across Europe before considering a studio recording. “I knew we would meet again in the studio,” Flavio confides. This need to hone their instincts and experience emotions on stage can be felt in the cohesion and spontaneity of the band. The compositions are also shared: six by the guitarist, three by the trumpeter, and one piece chosen by Flavio Boltro, a composition by Pino Daniele, “Chi Tene O’Mare”, a track that resonates with current environmental concerns.
“Letting Go” marks a clear evolution in the guitarist’s playing, distinguished by great attention to colour, spatial work, an increasingly stripped‑down sound, and a lightness in accompaniment that avoids any excess. Above all, the album is conceived to highlight listening to one another. A recording of captivating spontaneity — every track is a first take — and of effortless, natural flow from start to finish.
