Led by Brazilian guitarist Fred Barreto, the Fred Barreto Group is a Luxembourg-based blues-rock quartet with an unmistakably international spirit. Barreto’s powerful, instantly recognisable guitar voice blends virtuosity, soul and raw energy, moving effortlessly between deep blues feeling and full-throttle rock intensity. There is no imitation in his playing, just a distinctive sound, a fierce musical identity and a natural connection with the audience from the very first notes.

Alongside organist Nadja Prange, bassist Daniel Fastro and drummer Michael Stein, Fred Barreto forms a band whose chemistry is forged on stage. Together, FBG combines the timeless force of rock with the emotional depth of blues, driven by vintage influences yet delivered with a bold, contemporary edge. Their live shows are dynamic, generous and high-voltage: powerful grooves, expressive solos and the kind of collective energy that turns a concert into a shared experience.

Over the years, Fred Barreto Group has built a strong reputation far beyond Luxembourg, performing more than 150 concerts and appearing on major stages across Europe and the Indian Ocean. The band has supported legendary names including Toto, Ian Paice from Deep Purple, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, Ana Popović and The Wanton Bishops. They have shared festival stages with artists such as Canned Heat, Robben Ford and Kirk Fletcher, and brought their music to Réunion Island for the Detakali Festival.

From the release of early singles So Many Things and Time To Escape, through the For So Long EP, to the full-length album Moving On, FBG has developed a catalogue that mirrors its live identity: honest, electric and made to travel. Rooted in Luxembourg, shaped by Brazilian flair and built for international stages, Fred Barreto Group delivers blues-rock with fire, character and soul.
